First~

When, in the course of career divergences, it becomes necessary for one to introspect and reflect on the path taken, it is often a time of uncertainty and self-doubt, a time of contemplation and reflection, a time of fear and trepidation and also of self-discovery.

I have been applying for jobs recently, and one company's application process had me deep in thought -- for days, even. I spent a lot of time soul searching, and one outcome I took forward from that depressing and enlightening fiasco is that I want to do more to share my thoughts and put my professional self out there. Do more to give back, here on this blog and to the software engineering and developer communities, and especially to Free and Open Source Software projects.

I've blogged intermittently over the years, personally and for profit. From the time "mosh16's" The Mosh Pitt hit (GeoCities)[https://archive.org/web/geocities.php] in the 1990s, to my Radford University "RUCS" home page, my original personal/tech blog at sdsalyer.com to "WispsOfTime's" pen & paper solo roleplaying blog. I've made my share of first posts and I've always enjoyed writing, if not been driven mad by it. So, without further ado, let's do this thing again before the fuel to this fire burns out!

Of course, as per usual, that begins with the first post. And now you have it. :)
